Sometimes You Gotta Call in a PRO

I did it. I really did. I called a PROfessional organizer to help me, to dig me out, to SAVE me. OK. It's not that bad... I'm not close to being on "Hoarders" by any means...but the buck stops here. I have always had issues with paper, bills, receipts... And, this morning, when I could no longer find my cheque book, that was the final straw.

Why is it that I always have to look for something. I am the token poser organizer. I buy the bins, the cute containers, the label machine... I have read these books. But CLEARLY my system is flawed, broken, useless. (She drops to the floor with exhaustion).

Why is it that my husband can ALWAYS find what he needs in his neat and tidy desk? His chequebooks are ALWAYS in the same place...and I need to empty every handbag, basket, and container to try to find mine???

Friends, I am hoping for a revolution here. I am desperately seeking assistance in managing my paper wars. I need something that works. I am even ready to forgo cute for function. It has come down to this.

So I called a professional, booked a free consult and I am now counting the sleeps until this magical lady with the magical wand knocks on my door to change my life. Please nice lady with good ideas, feet firmly on ground and completely unattached to my stacks of important papers...please make me paper happy. Help me embrace the stuff and feel good as I walk by it... Because right now it's making me nauseous... S.O.S. Please make me a paper princess...

Are there any other bashful paper friends out there? Please tell me I am not alone...

  1. You are sooooo not alone. How funny that you wrote about this. I was just telling my husband that if I am planning on opening an Esty shop, and I am..... then I just have to get more organized. Every time I go to look for something I can't find it. It takes up precious creating time to find all that I need and then I get out of my creative mood and it goes downhill from there. So I am with you. I have not called in a Pro yet, so you will have to let me know how it works out for you, but I am going to try and get it together myself and see what happens. I hate being unorganized!!!!

    Good luck!!!!!!

  3. Ha ha!! You remind of me except I have never even bought the cute things to attempt any sort of organising. We have a 'thing' and the stuff goes there, or out of sight into some sort of vortex. Who really knows. lol.

  6. You go girl! I'm a bashful email disaster. I'm currently down to 96 in my inbox - GAH! At some point, the keeping up with business and answering every single email has got to come to a compromise. Any suggestions?

  9. Awesome.

    Hi Danielle,

I thought about being a professional organizer as a career once. I love pulling things apart, making them more efficient and putting it all back together. I know where everything is in my house. I only every misplaced one thing, in a move of house once, a rare rock from Lake Huron with authentic native animal cavings. To this day it drives me insane that I cant remember the 'safe' place I stored it in.

  10. FANTASTIC! you know what, i think it was coming back from AAJ. I spent all day on the Friday clearing out my studio, spending time filing, sorting, tidying. I really think it was my inner soul telling me to create the clearing for something new, exciting possibilities so I think this is what is happening to you dear sister. Was SO AMAZING seeing you. xx

  12. Can't wait to see how this goes for you. But, I'm just sayin', I really think that if we had a "Whose Pile Is Bigger" contest that I can win. ;)

I have a hard time feeling comfortable and peaceful when I have piles and clutter, it is a constant battle for me. I sort of keep it at bay by having a cleaning lady come every other week. But typically she can just make the piles look nicer, she doesn't really deal with them for me.

Post a before and after pic...that would be fabulous!
