Here is a sneak peek of my latest project:
A NEW SHOW called BECOMING.
This painting measures 16 by 20 inches
It's still untitled.
I'm planning fifteen paintings for this show
that is to take place in September of this year!
I'm super excited about this because it's going to be shown in a beautiful
historical library in the heart of Quebec city called
Marie-Victorin à L'Ancienne-Lorette.
As you already know, I am extremely inspired by my First Nation roots,
and this new body of work is no exception. I'm intentionally tapping into the world of childlike wonders and enchantment for these paintings. It will be different. It will be special. I'm so excited that children of all ages will be able to view these paintings.
I can't wait to unravel this story and share it with others, old and young.
I have already sketched out these works in my notebook .
This might sound weird but I feel like they are already painted and finished.
All I have to do is show up and obviously do the work... but in my mind's eye,
I see this collection completed and just waiting for me to get caught up...
This is new. I've never experienced this before...
Here is the tower I mentioned a couple of weeks ago...
15 canvases in all
measuring 16 by 20 inches!
This show is called Becoming in English and Etre et Devenir in French.
Here is the ADORABLE bookmark that my talented friend Isabelle Leblanc
has made to help promote the show. They'll be handing them out at the library.
It makes me so happy to know that these little beauties will be tucked inside kids' books all summer long. More about this journey and this collection soon...
I have a lot of work to do...
